We take pride in our rare bookmatched and sequenced lumber sets. During the milling process, we take extra care to keep the logs matched wood together. Bookmatched or sequenced lumber adds beauty and consistency to furniture, instruments and many other projects. Bookmatches add dimension so that the finished piece has a unity and flow that stimulates the imagination with natural designs that are esthetically pleasing.
Woodworking Tip:
Experienced woodworkers know how important it is to buy lumber that is cut and dried to the thickness that it will be used. For instance, if your table-top is designed for 1” wood thickness, you should buy 5/4 lumber. Many have made the mistake of buying thicker lumber than is needed and re-sawing it to make their own bookmatched sets. You need to know that anytime that you re-saw lumber, you risk losing it. There are many factors you cannot control such as internal defects and differing moisture contents that can lead to warping.
